Windows Mobile Client

Mobile Client Version 1.1 Runs on most devices that use:
  • Windows Pocket PC 2003
  • Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC
  • Windows Mobile 5 for Pocket PC Phone Edition
  • Windows Mobile 6 Classic
  • Windows Mobile 6 Professional
Requires .NET Compact Framework Version 2.0. Does not run on Windows Mobile 5.0 for Smartphone devices or Windows Mobile 6 Standard devices. (Note that Microsoft's nomenclature is confusing — Pocket PC devices are often "smartphones" in the general usage.)
.NET Compact Framework Version 2.0 Necessary on mobile devices that do not have .NET Compact Framework Version 2.0. Install on the PC Windows system with your mobile device connected via ActiveSync, as it uses ActiveSync to install to the device. (In order to get this onto your PC Windows system, you will first need to install .NET Framework Version 2.0 onto your Windows system if you do not have it already. You can have multiple .NET Framework versions on your PC Windows system.)

Windows Native Client

Windows Client Version 1.1 Runs on Windows 2000 and later. (Note that Windows Vista is supported, but HipCheck client auto upgrade does not function - install new client versions manually.) Requires .NET Framework Version 2.0.
.NET Framework Version 2.0 Necessary on Windows versions that do not already have .NET Framework Version 2.0. Ensure you have the SP2 level of the .NET Framework and all latest security fixes, via Windows Update.

Java Mobile Edition Client

The HipCheck Java ME client runs on a wide range of Java enabled handsets, including BlackBerry, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung, LG, and Palm Treo smartphones with PalmOS.

Quick installation: type the following address into your handset's browser: then select the packaged version appropriate to your actual handset. Unless otherwise noted, your Java ME device will only be able to install and run the Standard Java ME version. The exceptions are that BlackBerry handsets should download the BlackBerry version and PalmOS handsets should download the PalmOS Treo version.

Java ME environment for PalmOS Necessary on PalmOS devices, including Treo 650/680/700p, that do not have Java ME. Install on the PalmOS system with your mobile device connected via Palm Desktop and Quick Install; see instructions there for full details. Note: As of January 12, 2008, Palm no longer has rights to distribute the IBM WebSphere Micro Environment Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to their customers, and thus the Java ME environment for PalmOS is no longer available from this site.

Windows Agent components

These run on the monitored systems running Windows.

Windows 2003/XP Agent Version 1.1 The HipCheck agent for Windows XP Pro and Windows 2003 Server (all editions) monitored systems. Requires .NET Framework 2.0.
64-bit Windows 2003/XP Agent Hot-fix If you are running the HipCheck agent on an x86-64 (64-bit) system architecture, you need to apply this hot-fix after installing the agent. First stop the agent. Then replace the two copies of System.Data.SQLite.DLL in C:\Program Files (x86)\Me Inc\HipCheck Agent for Windows and C:\Program Files (x86)\Me Inc\HipCheck Agent for Windows\bin with the System.Data.SQLite.DLL included in the hot-fix (both locations get the same DLL). Finally, restart the agent. If you are running the HipCheck agent on an x86 (32-bit) system architecture, you should not apply this hot-fix. You can tell what kind of architecture your system has by, in Windows, doing Control Panel | System.
Windows 2000 Agent Version 1.1 The HipCheck agent for Windows 2000 (all editions) monitored systems. Requires .NET Framework 2.0. Also requires latest updates, including SP4 (from Windows Update) and IIS (from Windows 2000 media) to be installed. Supports same functionality as later Windows agents except for cancelling print jobs. Requires additional IIS configuration as last part of installation.
.NET Framework Version 2.0 Necessary on Windows monitored systems that do not have .NET Framework Version 2.0.

SCO UNIX Agent components

These run on the monitored systems running SCO UNIX.

SCO OpenServer 6.0.0 Agent Version 1.1 Instructions to install the HipCheck agent for SCO OpenServer 6.0.0.
SCO OpenServer 5.0.7 Agent Version 1.1 Instructions to install the HipCheck agent for SCO OpenServer 5.0.7.
SCO UnixWare 7.1.x and Open UNIX 8 Agent Version 1.1 Instructions to install the HipCheck agent for SCO UnixWare 7.1.x and Open UNIX 8, including UnixWare 7.1.4, UnixWare 7.1.3, Open UNIX 8.0.0 [also known as UnixWare 7.1.2], and UnixWare 7.1.1.

Sun Solaris Agent components

These run on the monitored systems running Sun Solaris.

Sun Solaris Agent Version 1.1 Instructions to install the HipCheck agent for Sun Solaris, including for both SPARC and Intel x86 architectures, Solaris 2.8 (Solaris 8) and later.

Linux Agent components

These run on the monitored systems running Linux.

Linux Agent Version 1.1 Instructions to install the HipCheck agent for Linux. Reference platforms are SuSE Linux 10.1 and Fedora 7.
